    In Corbalo's Gold, Taylor Barnes is introduced as a naïve, 48 year old, late blooming dreamer, who is suddenly set adrift amid the wild nightlife of mid-eighties Fort Lauderdale, where he is first bitten by the often deadly gold bug.  Through the hardships he endures in this, the first of the Taylor Barnes Adventures,  Barnes manages to break free from his icon filled cocoon to emerge as a self confident, daring, adventure seeker.
