The Mako Sport Fisherman
brought new adventure to our lives in the mid 1970s.
Having moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1972, we didn't really
start enjoying the Florida lifestyle until we bought a boat. A 20
foot Mako seemed the perfect all round fishing and fun boat. With
it's eight foot beam, eight inch thick fiberglass and Styrofoam sandwich
construction, and great stability it just needed a few improvements, like
out-riggers, fish-box, and some teak ®Nautolex decking,
to get her ready for anything we wanted to use her for, from offshore
trolling, to cruising the intra-coastal waterway, or even plugging for
bass on Lake Okeechobee. We were living in a waterfront condo and
kept the boat trailered when not in use.
